Description
Dream Police is the fourth studio album from Cheap Trick, released in 1979 and produced by Tom Werman. Landing after the huge success of At Budokan, it caught the band at the point where they’d become one of the biggest new rock bands of the late 1970s.
It’s a record that shows just how broad Cheap Trick could be, moving from straight-ahead rockers to more melodic, atmospheric songs without losing its edge. “Dream Police” remains the key cut, with “Voices”, “Way of the World” and “Gonna Raise Hell” standing tall alongside it.
Dream Police reached number six on the Billboard 200 and became one of the band’s most successful studio albums. It still holds its place as a much-loved part of Cheap Trick’s classic period and a vital record in their 1970s catalogue.
