Desperate Character (NAD 2026)

Demon are delighted to present the classic Kirsty MacColl album Desperate Character for National Album Day 2026. Available on vinyl for the first time since its initial 1981 release on Green vinyl. Desperate Character was Kirsty MacColl's debut studio album, released in June 1981 and produced by Barry "Bazza" Farmer. While the album was not a major commercial hit, it was fuelled by the success of its lead single, "There's a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He's Elvis," which hit #14 on the UK Singles Chart. The album also featured the single "See That Girl" Due to limited original pressings and contract issues shortly after its release, the original vinyl LP became a rare, sought-after collector's item, until now.
